We are seeking a reliable and motivated Long Haul Truck Driver to operate a hotshot rig with a 40ft trailer. This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of time-sensitive loads over long distances. We offer weekly pay and are open to candidates with a strong work ethic, even if they have limited experience.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently transport freight across the country.
- Secure loads using straps, chains, and other appropriate equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer.
- Maintain accurate trip logs and other required documentation.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Perform basic maintenance checks, such as monitoring tire pressure, oil, and fluid levels.
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license.
- Illinois candidates: Must possess a Class C driver's license or higher.
- Candidates from other states: Must hold the appropriate class of license for a vehicle with a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,000 lbs or more, with the towed unit weighing over 10,000 lbs.
- Experience is optional, but a willingness to learn and a strong commitment to safety are a must.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including securing loads and working long, irregular hours.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
