Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer / Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of an enterprise ServiceNow platform. This role is responsible for platform operations, configuration, development, upgrades, and performance optimization to ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable ServiceNow environment.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and project teams to deliver ServiceNow solutions that align with organizational objectives while maintaining platform stability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the ServiceNow platform, ensuring availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
- Perform daily platform monitoring and support activities, including scheduled jobs, integrations, data loads, and system health checks.
- Manage user access, roles, groups, and platform security configurations.
- Support and maintain the CMDB, Service Catalog, workflows, and related ServiceNow components.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute platform upgrades, patches, and release activities.
- Conduct impact assessments, testing, validation, and post-upgrade reviews to ensure successful deployments.
- Develop and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Flow Designer workflows, and other platform configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, defects, and performance-related issues.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support operational and leadership reporting.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to implement platform enhancements and support ongoing development initiatives.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
- Communicate technical concepts and platform capabilities effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on ServiceNow administration and development experience.
- Strong experience with ServiceNow platform administration, configuration, and development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
- Experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and ServiceNow automation capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing ServiceNow upgrades and release activities.
- Experience troubleshooting platform issues and supporting production environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow Agile Development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting state, local, or federal government organizations.
- Experience working in highly regulated or secure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL v4 frameworks and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- ServiceNow Micro-Certifications related to platform administration, upgrade management, or platform governance.
