Our client is an established mechanical construction and sheet metal fabrication company with more than 70 years of industry experience. The company operates a modern fabrication facility producing custom metal components and serves mechanical contractors, general contractors, corporations, and institutions throughout the region.

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Project Manager to oversee projects from planning through completion. This position will coordinate clients, contractors, employees, and design professionals while managing project schedules, budgets, contracts, quality, safety, and day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Develop project scopes, work descriptions, material requirements, schedules, and budgets
• Schedule and coordinate project activities to meet established milestones and deadlines
• Prepare budget estimates and communicate project costs and financial progress
• Monitor project expenses and address unexpected cost issues
• Review engineering drawings, architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Manage contract negotiations, revisions, additions, and contractual requirements
• Coordinate with clients, supervisors, contractors, and design professionals to resolve project issues
• Respond to project delays, weather disruptions, emergencies, and other unforeseen challenges
• Monitor employee and contractor performance against project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, contractors, designers, supervisors, tradespeople, and craft workers
• Manage multiple projects and priorities throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

• 3 years of construction leadership or project management experience
• Mechanical construction or related industry experience
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, architectural plans, and construction documents
• Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work in-person in Frederick, Maryland

• Mechanical construction project management

• HVAC or mechanical systems
