Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of residential and commercial spaces, including dusting, surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and sanitation of bathrooms and kitchens
- Implement proper cleaning and sanitation procedures using appropriate detergents and cleaning equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met or exceeded
- Handle laundry tasks such as washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or uniforms as needed
- Operate janitorial tools and equipment safely, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, steam cleaners, and other specialized cleaning devices
- Manage manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of furniture, appliances, or cleaning supplies while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces by dusting, wiping down counters, fixtures, and high-touch areas regularly
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand specific cleaning needs and provide excellent customer service during each visit
- Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks within scheduled windows while maintaining high-quality standards
- Follow all health and safety guidelines related to cleaning detergents, sanitation practices, and outdoor work environments when applicable
Experience
- Prior experience in residential or commercial cleaning is highly desirable; janitorial or custodial experience is a plus
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures for various surfaces including floors, carpets, tiles, and upholstery
- Familiarity with the use of different cleaning detergents and disinfectants along with proper handling techniques
- Experience in housekeeping management or hotel housekeeping roles is advantageous
- Ability to perform outdoor work when required for exterior cleaning tasks such as patios or walkways
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients professionally and courteously
