Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment to optimize performance and extend lifespan.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as drainage, piping repairs, and component replacements.
- Utilize specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for repairs requiring metal fabrication.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system performance data for accountability and future reference.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes during all installation and maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician with a strong background in construction-related environments.
- Mechanical knowledge spanning HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology including ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Hands-on experience with field service operations involving appliance repair, property maintenance, boiler management, and equipment repair.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively for electrical troubleshooting.
- Skilled in welding techniques necessary for metal repairs or fabrication tasks within HVAC systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with
driver preferred for transportation needs. - Strong understanding of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units and mechanical components essential for property comfort solutions.
