A.T. Protective Services is seeking a reliable, professional, and highly observant Security Officer to join our team. Our officers play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, their staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, conducting patrols, and responding promptly and appropriately to incidents or emergencies.
Candidates with prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred and may be required at certain client locations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Verify identification and age requirements for all guests entering the establishment, ensuring compliance with local laws and client policies.
- Conduct pat-downs or bag checks as required to prevent weapons, contraband, or prohibited items from entering the premises.
- Maintain a strong and visible presence at entry points, high-traffic areas, and near potential conflict zones to deter unwanted activity.
- Monitor crowd behavior, identifying signs of intoxication, disorderly conduct, or escalating situations before they become issues.
- De-escalate conflicts professionally, using verbal techniques to prevent physical altercations whenever possible.
- Escort disruptive, aggressive, or non-compliant individuals off the premises safely and in accordance with ATPS protocols.
- Respond immediately to disturbances or emergencies, such as medical incidents, altercations, or safety hazards.
- Perform visual checks and periodic walk-throughs to ensure the safety of staff and guests throughout the shift.
- Assist in first aid or CPR when needed until emergency personnel arrive.
- Work closely with venue staff and local law enforcement when situations require additional support or documentation.
- Document incidents accurately, completing detailed reports and activity logs for all noteworthy events.
- Protect client property and assets, maintaining awareness of theft risks, damage, or unauthorized access.
- Uphold a professional, calm, and controlled demeanor, even in high-energy nightlife environments.
Qualifications
- Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, AED, or relevant security/surveillance training are advantageous.
- Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation abilities.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, patrol procedures, and loss-prevention strategies.
- Exceptional observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and discreet during high-stress situations.
- Sufficient physical fitness to perform foot patrols, respond rapidly, and stand for extended periods.
- Possession of a valid Maryland security license or ability to obtain one, as required by state or local regulations. Individuals without a valid license will not be considered for employment.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance are mandatory.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 32.0 per week
