Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet individual dietary needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster trust and promote mental well-being
- Collaborate with team members, healthcare providers, and families to coordinate comprehensive care strategies
Requirements
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care is advantageous
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are required or can be obtained upon hire
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude toward caregiving responsibilities
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation may be necessary for community-based support roles
