Office Manager / Property Management Assistant Part-Time | 20–32 Hours/Week | $26–$30/Hour
About the Role A busy Property Management and Real Estate office in Savin Hill, Boston (Dorchester) is seeking a motivated and organized Office Manager/Property Management Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule — an ideal fit for someone who wants meaningful, varied work without a full-time commitment.
Schedule & Compensation
- 3 to 4 days per week, or up to 5 days with fewer hours per day
- 21 to 32 hours per week, depending on your availability and needs
- Mondays are generally required
- $26–$30 per hour, based on experience

About Our Office We are a collaborative, community-focused property management team. Our Dorchester office serves a diverse clientele — tenants, property owners, and housing agencies — and people walk in throughout the day with a wide range of needs and questions. We are a small office with only six employees. You'll be the face of the office and a key part of keeping everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist walk-in clients with professionalism, courtesy, and compassion
- Answer phones, screen and direct calls, take messages, and follow up as needed
- Perform bookkeeping tasks including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payment processing
- Prepare leases, housing-related paperwork, and run credit reports (training provided)
- Assist with Boston Housing Authority and Metro Housing Boston procedures and forms
- Manage work orders, repairs, and maintenance scheduling and follow-up
- Support the business owner, director of management, and senior property manager with administrative tasks
- Maintain and organize files, records, and the property management database (Buildium)
- Manage calendars and schedules for team members
- Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, vendors, and team members — in person, by phone, and in writing
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience as an office manager, administrative assistant, or in a similar role
- Experience in property management or real estate is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Boston Housing Authority and Metro Housing procedures is highly desirable
- Strong bookkeeping and numerical skills; attention to detail is a must
- Excellent follow-through and organizational habits
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and the internet; willingness to learn new software including Buildium
- Familiarity with Mac operating systems is helpful
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Spanish language skills (speaking and understanding) are required to effectively serve our diverse, Spanish-speaking clientele
