Overview
We are seeking compassionate and energetic Home Health Aides to join our team in providing exceptional in-home care. This vital role involves supporting patients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity while fostering independence. Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Support medication administration under supervision, including reminding patients to take medications and recording doses accurately
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral support
- Help with mobility and transfers using patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Follow home healthcare regulations, maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards, and ensure compliance during all caregiving activities
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health status promptly
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare agencies preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, catheter care, wound care, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR and first aid certification
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics; dementia or hospice care experience is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary and use proper patient transfer techniques
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary care settings
