What are the responsibilities and job description for the Float Caregiver position at At Ease Home Care?
The Float Caregiver position is a full-time role designed to provide coverage wherever support is needed most. Float Caregivers do not have a regular client assignment. Instead, they fill open shifts, assist with staffing needs, and provide care across our service area. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and strong communication skills.
Float Caregivers are compensated at a higher hourly rate in recognition of the flexibility and availability required for the position. Full-time benefits are also provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Cover open shifts and staffing needs as assigned.
- Travel to various client locations as needed.
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling, including short-notice assignments when necessary.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with clients, caregivers, schedulers, and leadership.
- Provide high-quality care while adapting to different client needs and environments.
- Be available to work where business needs require coverage.
Additional OpportunitiesOccasionally, a Float Caregiver may be asked to assist with tasks such as client intakes when trained Lead Caregivers are unavailable. While this is not a primary responsibility of the role, flexibility to assist in these situations is appreciated.
Growth PotentialThe Float Caregiver position is an excellent pathway to a Lead Caregiver role. Lead Caregivers continue to provide staffing support where needed but also take on additional responsibilities such as:
- Conducting client intakes and assessments
- Assisting with caregiver training and mentoring
- Supporting marketing and community outreach efforts
- Helping with operational and leadership initiatives
