Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid PCA certificate or CNA license (Virginia) (willingness to obtain certification through proper channels)
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid
- Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID
- Social Security card
- Negative TB test or annual waiver (within 90 days of hire)
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulation
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, home & community care, or hospice care preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and compassionate attitude toward clients of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, or memory care
Your Responsibilities
Ensuring our members receive personable and compassionate care by …
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Provide light housekeeping to support a clean, safe home
- Assist with walking, transfers, and positioning
- Offer medication reminders and support with self-administration
- Complete member's laundry (clothing, linens, towels)
- Observe and report changes in member's condition to the team supervisor
