Part Time/Adjunct Barbering Instructor (Liberty)

Savannah Technical College is seeking part-time Barbering Instructors to join our college.  Opportunities currently exist at Liberty Campus-Hinesville and include openings for both day (dual enrollment} and evening class offerings.

Job Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Utilize current curriculum and instructional materials to teach the state approved Barbering curriculum to enrolled students;
• Foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings;
• Evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
• Ensuring student learning outcomes are attained and properly recorded;
• Preparing and maintaining documentation and administrative reports;
• Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and laboratory;
• Accept the responsibility of retaining students who enroll in the program through graduation;
• Assist with the placement of program graduates;
• Maintain good rapport with business, industry, and the public sector 

Minimum Qualifications

• Active State of Georgia Master Barber license
• Earn high school diploma or equivalent

• Ability and willingness to work at multiple campus locations, as assigned 

   

   

   

  Preferred Qualifications
  Preference will be given to applicants who have:

   

   

• Active Barber Instructor License (State of Georgia)
• Familiarity with state board examination preparation
  
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in barbering within the last five (5) years
• Prior teaching/training experience (preferably in a post-secondary setting)

Physical Demands

Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, or pulling in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight up to 50 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. The employee regularly interacts and communicates with students, employees, and the general public. 

Salary/Benefits 

Target salary is commensurate with education and work experience.
