Asymmetric Unmanned LLC. is seeking responsible and professional Part 107 UAS pilots to operate our commercial drone fleet in support of our customers within the U.S... Asymmetric’ s goal is to expand its flight crew roster and office staff with experienced UAS operators and data technicians within the next 3 months.
While Asymmetric’ s UAS commercial operations vary, opening positions are focused on the following use applications:
- T&D infrastructure inspection
- Right of Way (ROW) vegetation encroachment surveys
- Compliance inspections of Telecom, Solar, and Wind Farm infrastructure
- Oil & Gas Pipeline Survey & Point Inspections
- Data collection & production of surveying and digital mapping products
Qualified candidates with experience in one or more of these areas are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for review.
Candidates must be willing to work in small teams and travel to any location that our clients require.
Positions are subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with company operating policies and procedures.
UAS Operator Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as primary or secondary RPIC at commercial worksites as part of a UAS flight crew.
Interact with our clients in a professional manner and serve as the face of the company on the ground.
Conduct UAS flights safely with attention to platform capabilities and limitations, with consistent compliance to regulatory guidance per 14 CFR Part 107, pertaining to UAS operations.
Develop flight plans, pre-mission planning, and coordinate airspace integration with any affected controlling agencies or privately-owned properties as needed.
Perform basic UAS and ground support equipment troubleshooting.
Facilitate daily pre-mission briefs and safety risk assessments, as well as after-action reviews upon post-flight.
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
Possess a Remote Pilot Airman Certificate (Part 107).
Possess a minimum of 80 hours of UAS Remote Pilot in Command time (RPIC) of unmanned aircraft. Note: Preferable that resumes include time and type on specific UAVs.
Possess a thorough understanding of the FAA regulatory framework regarding the integration of UAS into the National Airspace (NAS), commercial UAS operations, and the LAANC system.
Ability to work with and manage small teams and/or work independently with limited supervision and oversight.
Must have and maintain a current and valid driver’s license.
Must be willing to travel 75% of the month.
Be able to perform physically demanding work that involves lifting over 40 lbs, frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, lifting, climbing, and walking on gravel and other uneven surfaces.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE), including hardhat, protective eyewear, boots, safety vests or harness, and other PPE as required by project.
Flexibility to travel at short notice (e.g., next day) for uncertain periods of time (typically for outage & emergency response operations.)
Preferred Experience:
Multi-rotor and fixed wing small UAS proficiency; Applicants should include UAS and sensor platforms that the pilot is qualified on by time and type as part of their resume.
Experience manipulating technical payload and sensor settings, e.g., image exposure, range, signal frequencies, etc.
Familiarity with data and image collection fundamentals, as well as the GIS & Mapping, CAD and Photogrammetry concepts.
Hands-On experience with post-processing software suites, e.g., Trimble Business Center (TBC), Pix4D, Agisoft, Reality Capture, Bentley MicroStation, Civil 3D, etc.
Hands-On experience with GIS data management tools, e.g., ArcGIS, Global Mapper, QGIS, etc.
Familiarity with Google Earth, UAV piloting apps & autonomous flight planning.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and any experience with driving off-road vehicles, e.g., ATVs
