Assistant System Analyst

The Assistant System Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving system solutions that meet business requirements. This role works closely with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure the stability, efficiency, and compliance of IT systems and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• System Development & Process Support: Develop, refine, and support system procedures that address business needs, taking into account system capacity and limitations.
• Database Support & Maintenance: Provide database maintenance and operational support to ensure stable and efficient performance.
• Application Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct application testing, implement QA practices including code reviews, testing strategies, and compliance with coding standards.
• Issue Management: Analyze and route issues into the appropriate ticketing systems, ensuring timely updates and closure.
• Documentation & Audit Compliance: Create and maintain operational and security documentation to support audits and internal standards.
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Promote innovation by adopting new technologies, tools, and development best practices to enhance efficiency.
• Reporting & Knowledge Sharing: Prepare regular reports for senior management and ensure all processes and standards are properly documented.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in programming or scripting (Java, C#) to support troubleshooting and automation tasks.
• Familiarity with web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Angular).
• Knowledge of MSSQL/Oracle databases, including queries, monitoring, and troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Understanding of agile development methodologies and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Ability to align technical solutions with business goals through strategic thinking.

Required Qualifications:

Years of Education

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience.

Work Experience

• 2 years of experience with enterprise systems, including database support, scripting, and application troubleshooting.

Working Conditions:

• Hybrid Work Arrangement: Typically works in an office or remote environment; required to be on-site three days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays are mandatory in-office days).
• Requires prolonged sitting and extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
• May involve attending virtual or in-person meetings for extended periods of time.
• Occasional lifting of office equipment or materials up to 15 pounds.
• No travel is required for this position.

$70,000-$85,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
