Supply Chain Inventory Operations Manager
Summary: The primary responsibility of the Inventory Operations Manager is to manage the strategic direction of Inventory in support of UBIF Reverse Logistics and Distribution inventory accounting, with authority for staffing, assignment, and coordination of all aspects of an effective inventory control program.
Purpose and Description: Primary responsibility of Inventory Operations Manager is to manage the day-to-day operations. Developing teams to utilize root cause methods to drive efficiencies in performance and internal metrics. As a Manager within Asurion you will promote teamwork, collaboration, quality/production standards, professionalism and integrity to ensure that departmental results are delivered in accordance with Asurion Core Values.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 40 employees, including 2-3 supervisors to drive and sustain world-class inventory counts, process, and controls that will execute cycle counting at high accuracy on a quarterly cadence
- Responsible for developing and implementing inventory processes and controls for new business ventures, Reverse Logistics and facilities as the UROC SCM organization grows as well as various vendors, suppliers, and OEM’s
- Responsible for managing inventory movement in and out of warehouse
- Collaborate and support proactive business initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities both within department as well as throughout the UROC facility and greater Supply Chain organization
- Serve as the primary contact for external, internal, and client/customer inventory auditors
- Develop scalable practices and procedures in order to drive efficiencies, accountability and accuracy of inventory on hand and core return/RMA processing in warehouse
- Maintain inventory accuracy performance reporting, root cause analysis and process improvement progress
- Lead teams on the floor that own core return and RMA processing, part remanufacturing and other inventory accountability within warehouse
- Prepare and present metrics to senior leadership
- Lead all physical and special inventories as required
- Audit transaction-processing activity
- Develop accuracy improvement work-plans; assist in improving transaction timeliness and reconciling system fall-outs
- Review and approve inventory adjustments
- Monitor material movement process and procedures
- Develop and implement all necessary job aids or reading materials
- Coach employees to ensure their productivity meets or exceeds standards
- Give guidance to other Asurion departments on physical material movement and processes.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- College Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 5 years previous Logistics, Cycle Count, Reconciliation required with at least 2 years at supervisor level.
- Must be organized, able to lead teams and activities and manage time efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop teams without direct control
- Must maintain the highest level of ethical standards
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and team facilitation skills
- Must be able to think proactively on a holistic level
- Must be able to interpret accuracy related performance reports and develop related corrective action activity.
- Experience in analyzing business processes and recommending improvements to management
- Must be able to document and deploy processes and procedures
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel experience required
- SQL fluency a plus
- Strong problem solving and investigation skills are necessary.
- Experience in interacting with other internal departments
- Familiarity with a variety supervisory concepts, practices and procedures
