Director of Advanced Analytics
The Director of Advanced Analytics is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the development and execution of advanced analytics initiatives to inform business strategy and promote drive data-driven decision-making. This role will utilize advanced prescriptive analytics to be a bridge between business intelligence and data science to provide applied strategies for business stakeholders. The Director will lead a team consisting of full-time and student employee resources.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute the overall advanced analytics strategy, aligning with the broader business objectives.
- Identify and prioritize key analytics initiatives that will deliver the greatest impact.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of data analysis and insights provided to stakeholders.
- Utilize a variety of statistical and analysis techniques to solve complex business problems.
- Translate complex data insights into applicable business strategies.
- Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, data governance, marketing, and operations, to identify opportunities and deliver analytics solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
What you'll need
- Experience with A/B testing, experimental design, and causal inference.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and data enrichment.
- Experience with data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
- Strong programming skills in Python or for data analysis and model building support.
- Familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS).
- Expert proficiency in conveying data insights though visual and written form appropriate for executive audiences.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) to effectively communicate findings.
- Working knowledge of cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ability to leverage cloud technologies for scalable data processing and analysis.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills. Passion for experimentation and innovation.
- Ability to align analytics initiatives with business objectives and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Skill in identifying and prioritizing high-impact analytics projects.
- Skill in applying analytical insights to solve real-world business problems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Relevant qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in analytics and/or data science roles.
Preferred education and experience
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
Preferred skills and abilities
- Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform, Google Marketing Platform technologies and/or equivalent technologies.
- Familiarity with agile project methodologies.
