Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are looking for a Material Handler to join our warehouse team. In this role you will receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within established guidelines. Accurate computer interface and entry is essential to the job.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins throughout the facility according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Process requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department. Prepares parcels for mailing.
- Open bales, crates, and other containers to weigh or count. Examines materials to ensure shipments meet specifications and mark identifying information.
- Accurately weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Use computer to enter amounts of materials and items received or distributed and maintaining inventory information. Uses radio frequency (R/F) guns to move materials.
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Drive forklift to transport items throughout facility.
- Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
- Consistently and accurately complies with DOT and HazMat regulations.
- Attends Quality manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.
- Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and material properly.
- Reports consistently to work and is on time. Able to work an eight-hour shift and any overtime as needed.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience and/or training in warehousing.
- Computer skills necessary.
- Ability to obtain a Forklift license.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Good computer and math skills.
- Customer Service focused, with excellent communication skills.
- Cycle counting and Inventory Control experience preferred.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
