Astro Machine & Tool is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist – Level II to join our machining team. This position requires the ability to independently set up and operate CNC equipment while maintaining tight tolerances and high quality standards.
A. Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Independently perform full machine setups
- Select and install tooling and fixtures
- Set speeds, feeds, and machining parameters
- Maintain tolerances of ±.001” or tighter as required
- Perform threading operations
- Conduct first article and in-process inspections
- Complete job travelers and inspection documentation
- Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with quality and engineering teams
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
B. Qualifications:
- 3–5 years CNC machining experience preferred (not required)
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments
- Ability to perform setups without supervision
- Experience holding tight tolerances
- Must provide own personal tools
