Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be actively supervising and caring for groups of dogs in a dedicated play area, ensuring their safety and well-being through play, feeding, walking, cleaning, and monitoring their behavior, while maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, requiring strong dog handling skills and the ability to identify and address potential behavioral issues.
Responsibilities (not limited to)
· Supervising playgroups:·
Actively monitoring dog interactions in play areas to prevent conflicts and ensure safe play dynamics while allowing the dogs to develop the “pack mentality”.
· Dog introductions:
Properly introducing dogs to each other using appropriate protocols to minimize stress and potential aggression.
· Feeding and hydration:
Providing dogs with their scheduled meals and fresh water throughout the day.
· Walking and exercise dogs with 1 on 1 play:
Taking dogs outside for walks and providing structured playtime to meet their exercise needs.
· Cleaning and sanitation:
Maintaining cleanliness of play areas, kennels, and other facilities by removing waste, cleaning up spills, and disinfecting surfaces.
· Behavioral management:
Identifying and addressing potential behavioral issues among dogs, including redirecting unwanted behaviors and implementing appropriate management strategies.
· Health checks:
Observing dogs for any signs of illness or injury and reporting concerns to management
· Client communication:
Interacting with dog owners to discuss their dog's needs, providing updates on their day, and addressing any concerns
Placing dogs in playgroups / removing dogs from group
Walking to the lobby to take a daycare dog from the owner and then placing that dog in the appropriate location. Walking to the area where a dog is located, putting on all their belongings and walking them to the lobby for the owner. Giving the owner a brief recap of how their dog did that day.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a professional dog handling or animal care situation is mandatory. Prior experience is required and house sitting or watching neighbors or family dogs will not be considered.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time. It is a physically demanding job that requires constant walking.
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices is beneficial.
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed (up to 50 pounds).
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 35 per week
