What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving, 3rd Shift position at Astro Chemicals, Inc.?
- Conduct and assist in loading and unloading of chemical products from trucks and trailers.
- Receive products, supplies and hardware; verify receipt against Bill of Lading/Manifest.
- Utilize proper storage procedures of chemical products in designated racks, bay and building by utilizing specialized material handling equipment and defined storage methods.
- Experience in yard moves is essential to this role.
- Confirm all special customer instructions are adhered to – custom labels or stencils, lot
- selections, Certificates of Analysis, pallets specifications, etc.
- Selection, preparation and staging of customer orders per customer requirements, such as lot control numbers, additional stenciling or labeling requirements, packing and handling requirements, sample delivery requirements, QC requirements and/or cleaning of containers
- Unload empty returnable containers from Astro trucks. Sort containers to be reloaded on appropriate trailers for re-use or reconditioning.
- Identify and immediately report any deviations with delivery and/or shipment of products
- Assist or assign tasks of loading customer pick-ups
- Assist with incoming freight; verify product against Purchase Order requirements
- Prepare empty containers for Bulk Plant.
- Prepare pallets for storage and/or transportation of products.
- Identify and notify Management of problems or potential problems, as observed
- Enter any Certificate of Conformance in the computer system ensuring information is up to date
- Enter shipments into computer reflecting current inventory levels.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Ensure shipment/delivery load is properly secured and/or stored, verify placard status.
- Ensure compliance with Company safety rules, local, state and/or federal regulations.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance in establishing new product codes, as required.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance in identifying non-conforming materials.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance on Certificates of Compliance, updating as required.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance on MSDS updates.
- Proficiency using a computer is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
