Keep production moving by driving supplier commitments, resolving late orders, and managing critical materials. This fast-paced, hands-on role lets you make a direct impact on supply chain performance, working closely with Procurement, Planning, and Operations to ensure smooth, on-time operations.

Materials Coordinator – ExpeditingDaily Tasks: What you will do:

• Proactively monitor purchase orders (POs) to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Drive supplier commitments and accelerate shipments when needed to prevent production delays.
• Manage late POs, track below safety stock (SSL) items, and implement recovery plans including pull-ins, split shipments, or expedited freight.
• Confirm inbound shipments, obtain supplier acknowledgements, and track carrier details.
• Maintain accurate delivery dates in ERP/MRP systems and update records after supplier confirmation.
• Re-engage low-activity or dormant suppliers to secure continuity of supply.
• Partner with Procurement, Planning, and Operations teams to align priorities and resolve material shortages.
• Update reports on shortages, late POs, and recovery actions; escalate issues when necessary.
• Support premium freight requests with business justification and necessary approvals.
  
  

Materials Coordinator – ExpeditingQualifications/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, materials, or production planning in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Hands-on experience expediting purchase orders and managing supplier commitments.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor) and Excel/Google Sheets.
