Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior General Ledger Accountant.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Minimum bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 Years of Experience
- Experience with General Ledger functions and month/year-end close and audits
- Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP experience preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively through complex scenarios
- Experience performing General Ledger and Project Ledger functions for a US Government contractor in Costpoint
- Attention to detail and critical thinking to reconcile accounts and subledgers
- Analyze complex accounting processes, transactions and account reconciliations during the month-end accounting close cycle.
- Assist the General Ledger Manager and leadership team to develop, implement and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing monthly internal and external reporting deliverables including providing monthly fluctuation analysis and commentary to finance leadership team for relevant balance sheet accounts.
- Support the annual financial statement audit process performed by the external independent auditors.
- Participate in special projects, ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by management.
- Identify areas for process improvements, including system enhancements.
- Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with key counterparts in accounting, project control, billing, payroll, FP&A and other functions.
