Astria Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team! This position is located at our Astria Toppenish Hospital in our Endoscopy Department.

Shift: 8 - 10 Hour Day Shift

What you get to do every day!

As the Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to manage and coordinate the interdisciplinary care of adult patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, providing individualized care to the patient, family and caregivers from pre-procedure to post-procedure. You will:

• Prepare patients for procedures by charting and ascertaining the completeness of required documents including the pre-op checklist, updated H&P, and signed consent forms.
  
• Establish IV access to all patients undergoing endoscopy procedures with moderate sedation.
  
• Administer sedation medication under provider’s orders, assess and monitor patients, chart pertinent information, and assist the endoscopy technician as needed during the procedure.
  
• Provide appropriate handling and labeling of all specimens according to department and laboratory policies and procedures.
  
• Provide an accurate post-procedure report of the findings, patient status, and provider instructions if indicated, to the receiving recovery RN.
  
• Review and interpret physician’s procedural notes and provide relevant printed and/or written discharge information and instructions to the patient, family and/or caregiver.
  
• Assess and monitor patient in post-procedure recovery and determine when patient is ready for discharge per moderate sedation guidelines.
  
• Utilize computer system to access patient’s electronic medical record for charting of all relevant and pertinent patient information.
  
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Current WA State RN license.
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS required or obtained within 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications and Education

• IV insertion skills
• Experience with moderate sedation
• Experience working in endoscopy
• Two or more years of direct work experience in healthcare
• Bilingual in Spanish language

Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
