We are looking for PhD, PharmD, and Masters level students majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, or a related discipline for a 12-week internship role in Boston, MA from May 18th to August 7th. College juniors or seniors who have not yet received their BS and are enrolled in a scientific discipline may also be considered. The primary purpose of this internship will be to provide an opportunity to learn about the role of the medical writer within the pharmaceutical industry and become familiar with the suite of documentation supporting clinical development. The medical writing intern will shadow an experienced writer through development of sections of clinical regulatory documents as assigned by their mentor. The medical writing intern will be accountable for ensuring that deliverables are in line with the company’s authoring and QC standards and checklists. This role may support internal medical writing process improvement or template updates. Position Duties: Drafting sections of clinical regulatory documents as assigned by a mentor. Performing accurate and precise editing and/or proofreading to include spelling, grammar, punctuation, and verification of data in clinical documents (eg, study reports, Investigator's Brochures, protocols, and protocol amendments). Ensuring quality and timeliness of reviewing and editing of clinical documents. Ensuring adherence to Alexion document templates and Style Guide. Attending and participating in Medical Writing and project team meetings. Providing an end of internship summary presentation. Position Requirements: PhD, PharmD, and Masters level students majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, or a related discipline. College juniors or seniors who have not yet received their BS and are enrolled in a scientific discipline may also be considered. Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2026. Experience with various MS Office programs, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English. Ability to understand clinical, scientific, and statistical data. Good interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail. The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. Previous experience in writing of clinical or technical documents is preferred. Experience in clinical research or working with clinical regulatory documents is a plus.
