The Oncology Business Unit (OBU) is a cross-functional, cross-market business unit that embodies our value of playing to win by maximizing our unprecedented number of upcoming launches in oncology. The OBU is driven by three key strategic principles of fostering alignment to expedite decisions between global and major markets, accelerating key capabilities and building appropriate investment allocation in our top markets.
The Finance Business Partner – Global Oncology, plays a critical role on the Global Oncology Finance team, providing oversight of global functional expenses and driving the budgeting and forecasting processes. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this individual will have direct exposure to a vital part of the AZ business, with an opportunity to partner with the global functional and franchise teams, while building capabilities in a complex, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Partner and engage with global functional teams to develop and maintain expense budgets and forecasts, informed by actuals and key trends
- Collaborate with Franchise Finance team and business stakeholders to track spend and articulate financial impact of risks and/or opportunities arising from variances within the budget
- Coordinate the month-end close process, serving as a primary point of contact for the Global Finance Services (GFS) and Franchise Operation Specialists (FOS) teams
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes for the global franchise and functional teams, including timeline development, central modelling of FTE resource planning, budget consolidation and target setting
- Prepare high-quality financial reports, presentations and messaging to Oncology Business Unit CFO and Head of Finance
- Provide FP&A support for Global Oncology as needed; support strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests
Qualifications:
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance
- Advanced Excel building, financial modelling, and presentation development skills
- Business Partnering skills: ability to engage with non-finance professionals and simplify complex financial viewpoints
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on delivery
- Responsive and flexible; works well under pressure and fast changing business needs
- Attention to detail; clear, accurate and consistent outputs both financial and verbal
- Strong analytical thinking skills, ability to analyze data and identify key drivers
- Entrepreneurial minded
Desirable
- Advanced Degree (e.g., MBA, etc.) or equivalent, relevant experience
- Excellent Finance Applications Skills: Hyperion, Smart View, SAP, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience working within a cross-cultural, global team environment
