Wage: $26.00/Hour

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the hotel not limited to, but including associates, guests, company property and company assets. This position will also assist with valet, front office and night audit duties as business requires. 

This position will be required to work PM and overnight shifts, including weekdays, weekends and holidays. Some overtime may be required. All schedules are based on business needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Provides basic customer service and courtesies to enhance the guests’ stay.
      • Smile and greet every guest (15/5 rule).
      • Thank the guest for their business when appropriate.
      • Practice proactive hospitality by anticipating their needs and being flexible in responding to them.
      • Be knowledgeable about the hotel.
      • Utilize the L.E.A.R.N. model to own & resolve complaints.
      • Report defects in the hotel including shortages of equipment & supplies.
      • Assists with maintaining cleanliness standards.
    2. Provides services to guests such as delivering housekeeping items, performing valet services, front desk duties including but not limited to night audit, as business requires.
    3. Regularly patrols building and secures assets according to established post orders.
    4. Examines doors, windows, and corridors to determine that they are secure. Unlocks those doors as necessary for the AM shift.
    5. Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, excessive noise, or carrying forbidden articles and apprehends or expels person engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
    6. Assists staff with controlling intoxicated guests.
    7. Maintains daily report and incident/accident reports as needed.
    8. Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
    9. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property.
    10. Records date such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment for use of supervisory staff.
    11. Maintain a good relationship with the local law enforcement officers.
    12. Check required pass down logs for any important information for the day.
    13. Assists Guests with information, directions, or any other assistance needed.
    14. Assists other Departments with the general operation of the Hotel, i.e. (traffic control, crowd control, access to secured areas, personnel escorts, etc.)
    15. Regularly patrols building, grounds and parking area of the Hotel.
    16. Assists with guest problems and complaints.
    17. Performs all duties as assigned by your supervisor.
    18. Performs other duties as developed, directed or assigned.
