What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Based Clinician position at Astor Services and Careers?
This School Based position will be located at George Washington Elementary and will be responsible for the delivery of outpatient clinical services to assigned clients in accordance with current ethical and professional standards and in keeping with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for school based services such as assessment, clinical intervention, consultation and education to school professionals, and advocacy and referral to needed services for children deemed as at-risk. The work schedule mirrors the Department of Education with school recess vacations.
You must have:
- MSW, LMSW, MHC, LMHC, or LCSW.
You should have:
- Experience with the population served is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct an initial assessment of students and their families identified as at risk by school personnel.
- Provide direct clinical service to students and their families.
- Refer to outside community agencies when appropriate.
- Link students to relevant school programs or personnel.
- Completes quarterly and annual reports in a timely manner.
- Act as an advocate for students.
- Conduct training seminars with school personnel relative to at-risk students.
- Consult with teachers and school personnel.
- Participate in CSE meetings as necessary.
- Attend meetings and conferences mutually agreed upon by Astor staff and school administration.
- Be available to new students and their families during the adjustment and transition to new school and community.
- Participate in child study meetings, attendance committee, retention/promotion meetings as needed.
- Evaluate CSE students to determine counseling needs.
- Maintain accurate, current case records.
- Evaluate program effectiveness using appropriate research design.
- Participate in staff development and training programs within the agency.
- Attend meetings and conferences mutually agreed upon by Astor staff and school administration.
