Route Sales Representative – Delivery, Sales & Merchandising
Department: Travel Retail
Reports To: Director of Operations – Las Vegas
Location: Las Vegas, NV
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Work Schedule
- Monday through Thursday, four (4) 10-hour shifts.
- Shift start time of 6:30 a.m. or 7:30 a.m. based on business needs.
- Occasional Fridays required with management approval or as business needs dictate.
- Overtime may be required.
Job Summary
The Route Sales Representative is responsible for servicing an assigned route by delivering products, merchandising displays, building customer relationships, generating sales growth, identifying new business opportunities, entering customer orders, closing sales opportunities, and maintaining company assets. Every customer visit is expected to improve customer satisfaction and grow Astor Chocolate's business.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle and complete assigned delivery routes.
- Deliver customer orders accurately and obtain proof of delivery.
- Maintain merchandising standards, stock shelves, rotate inventory, and install displays.
- Take customer orders and enter them accurately into company systems.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels at each customer location.
- Develop relationships with store managers and key decision makers.
- Introduce new products and expand existing product offerings.
- Identify, document, and follow up on qualified sales leads.
- Actively pursue and close new customer opportunities through cold calling and referrals.
- Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales activity, deliveries, and inventory.
- Report competitive activity and merchandising opportunities.
- Maintain company vehicle, tablet, equipment, and merchandising assets.
Performance Expectations
- Meet established sales and growth objectives.
- Generate and document new leads consistently.
- Close new customer opportunities.
- Maintain excellent merchandising standards.
- Complete deliveries accurately and on time.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Previous route sales, merchandising, retail, or delivery experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to use tablets, Microsoft Office, and mobile applications.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly.
- Stand, bend, reach, stoop, and climb stairs throughout the workday.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
