Job Description
The Workforce Development Manager will play a crucial role in planning and developing strategies to meet workforce needs across the organization. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to align workforce development activities with organizational goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive employment needs assessments to understand workforce requirements with each department manager.
- Evaluate and determine the appropriateness of contracting with outside vendors to achieve the organization's training goals.
- Work closely with the field leadership team to align workforce development activities with organizational objectives.
- Foster collaborative relationships with the Local Union for seamless integration and development of new hires.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with schools, military organizations, community groups, and other potential sources of talent.
- Represent the organization at career fairs and speaking events to communicate career opportunities.
- Organize and coordinate hiring events in collaboration with specific branches to ensure effective execution and candidate engagement.
- Create, distribute, and manage recruiting brochures and notifications about hiring and career opportunities.
- Coordinate, track, and document comprehensive training programs for new office and field employees.
- Serve as a supportive advocate for new trade professional employees, ensuring their successful integration into the workforce.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Workforce Management.
- Proficiency in human resources, workforce planning, and talent acquisition.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
- Understanding of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
- Self-starter, dependable, and capable of speaking in front of large groups.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Adept at speaking and relating to high school students, school administrators, electricians, project managers, and leadership.
- Ability to work independently in various environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Development, Education, or a related field of study is preferred.
- Previous experience as an instructor is preferred.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred.
- Understanding of the IBEW is preferred.
