Day to Day:
- year end reporting- drafting memos
- month end financial reporting
- variance analysis monthly basis

Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVE 1: 3-8 years of experience in Accounting/Finance (Open to international experience -- requires 1 year Canadian experience)
- financial reporting and variance analysis
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS
- Drafting memos needs to be Canadian experience
MUST HAVE 2: Advanced Excel
- Vlookup, sum ifs, Pivot tables
- Open to smaller ERPS
MUST HAVE 3: Completion of CFE exams
**Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting**
NICE TO HAVES:
- Knowledge of the energy and utility industries, including a solid understanding of the regulatory environment
- Experience with IT-based automated reporting tools
- Experience in a unionized utility environment
- Experience with IBM Cognos, or Workiva Wdesk and Modified IFRS
Soft Skills:
• Highly self-motivated and directed
• Follow established processes with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide practical and/or innovative solutions to complex technical issues
• Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an organized and concise way
• Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects and initiatives within established timelines
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
