Staff Accountant (Revenue Recognition)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the company’s revenue accounting activities, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and the unique requirements of point‑of‑sale–driven transactions
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations for designated entities and related accounts
• Evaluate product and service revenue streams to confirm appropriate accounting treatment
• Prepare recurring revenue reconciliations, including validating POS data against the general ledger
• Ensure all revenue activity is recorded accurately and on schedule, and assist in preparing monthly financial statements
• Review sales activity to identify deferred revenue impacts and trends
• Create and post revenue‑related journal entries during the month‑end close, including adjustments and reclassifications
• Investigate discrepancies, address audit inquiries, and resolve compliance‑related issues
• Maintain organized schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for all revenue accounts
• Review and process corporate credit card transactions
• Provide additional accounting support as needed, including tasks tied to acquisitions or integration efforts
• Participate in annual audit preparation and support
• Contribute to enhancements in revenue processes, internal controls, and POS‑to‑ledger data flow
• Take on special assignments or other responsibilities as business needs evolve
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience
• Exposure to technical accounting concepts, including ASC 606, is highly preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

This is a Permanent position based out of Newport Beach, CA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
