Responsibilities
- Process timecards and payroll for multiple companies, including more complex payrolls, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Review and address timecard and payroll discrepancies by investigating issues, identifying root causes, and implementing appropriate corrections.
- Review and reconcile payroll to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with accounting records.
- Prepare and record payroll journal entries in accordance with established accounting procedures.
- Assist employees with timecard or payroll questions or issues by providing clear, courteous, and timely support.
- Assist with audit requests as needed by gathering documentation, explaining payroll processes, and supporting internal and external audit activities.
- Adhere to company internal controls, policies, and procedures related to payroll and accounting.
- Follow detailed instructions and company policies while managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- High school diploma required.
- Basic knowledge of payroll and accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience preferred.
- Effective analytical skills to review and reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with employees and internal stakeholders.
- Effective computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheet and office application software.
- Exposure to automated accounting and/or ERP systems, such as Oracle.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to company policies.
- Strong multi-task orientation with the ability to handle multiple payrolls and tasks simultaneously.
- Associate’s degree (AA) preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems, such as Oracle, in a payroll or accounting environment.
- Experience supporting audit requests and working within established internal control frameworks.
