Job Title: Revenue AccountantJob DescriptionAs a Revenue Accountant, you will review and analyze complex customer contracts to determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606. You will participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue accounting close activities, including commissions accounting close activities and deliverables, such as reconciliations, revenue dashboards and reporting, revenue reserves, and flux analysis. Your role will involve partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate revenue forecasting and reporting, as well as preparing revenue-related reports for financial statement disclosures. Additionally, you will lead or support the implementation and migration of revenue accounting systems.ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze complex customer contracts for revenue recognition treatment per ASC 606.Participate in revenue accounting close activities and deliverables on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Partner with cross-functional teams for accurate revenue forecasting and reporting.Prepare revenue-related reports for financial statement disclosures.Lead or support the implementation and migration of revenue accounting systems.Collaborate to define systems requirements and ensure alignment with accounting policies.Perform systems testing, validation, and user training for new implementations or enhancements.Interface with internal and external auditors on revenue-related issues.Support US GAAP audits and maintain SOX control documentation.Essential Skills3‐5 years of experience in a revenue accounting role within the SaaS technology or subscription-based industry.Public accounting experience preferred.Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.High proficiency using the NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management module in multi-currency and multi-subsidiary environments.Additional Skills & QualificationsCPA certification is a plus.Experience in Power BI, Salesforce CRM, and RevPro is a plus.System implementation and UAT experience (NetSuite, RevPro) preferred.Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.Work EnvironmentThis position is fully remote, offering exposure to system implementations. You will work within a software platform company that started in 2009, which combines customer service, marketing, and orders into one platform. The company has experienced rapid growth, necessitating significant updates to their systems. The current revenue team consists of 10 employees, and the work environment is fast-paced, dynamic, and ever-changing.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80.00 - $110.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
