Our client is seeking an experienced Project Accountant II to support financial management across multiple projects and contracts. This role is responsible for the full project accounting lifecycle, partnering closely with Project Managers and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, contract compliance, and strong financial performance. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
This role begins in‑office for the first 90 days to support onboarding and training. After ramp‑up, the position transitions to a hybrid schedule with at least two days per week on‑site.
The team is opening a new office in downtown Nashville, with the option to sit in either the Brentwood or Nashville location. You will join a supportive, family‑oriented environment with one other Project Accountant currently on the team. A company laptop is provided.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage full project accounting lifecycle, including contract setup, budget tracking, invoicing, and financial reporting
- Prepare accurate client invoices, support collections, and monitor accounts receivable
- Maintain project budgets, review cost and earned value data, and support forecasting and closeout
- Ensure accurate contract documentation and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist with coding and processing AP, timesheets, expense reports, and subconsultant invoices
- Partner with Project Managers to provide financial insights and resolve project‑related issues
- Participate in project reviews and support continuous financial monitoring across multiple initiatives
- Strong in project accounting, including budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliation
- Experience with general ledger functions and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Excel (heavy usage required)
- Experience with invoice reconciliation and contract administration
- ERP experience with Oracle EBS
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (advanced degree may offset years of experience)
- Must have experience within an Engineering, Construction, or Architecture firm
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Experience with Pronto or Pulse systems
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
