Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Plant Accountant to join our team. This role involves preparing and consolidating financial statements, performing month-end and year-end closings, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong in accounting and finance, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements to ensure accuracy of accounting data.
- Perform month-end and year-end closings, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Analyze accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain ledgers and subsidiary accounts.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Understand job cost, cost analysis, and inventory market.
- Assist with audits and maintain internal controls.
- Provide accounting support for inventory and product pricing.
- Handle daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable and cash receipts.
- Monitor and report on financial performance; recommend cost-saving and profit-improvement strategies.
- Participate in setting and reviewing standard costs and analyze variances.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
- 5 years of general accounting experience in manufacturing.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of Excel experience, including understanding basic functions/formulas.
- Experience with journal entries, accounts payable, financial statements, accounts receivable, financial reporting, inventory, ERP, budgeting, and standard costs.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience with EPICOR.
- Ability to be highly accurate with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, handle stressful situations, multitask, and prioritize work.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously.
- Strong analytical ability.
