This Human Resources Generalist role supports a large manufacturing workforce in Temecula, CA. Job Description
This Human Resources Generalist role supports a large manufacturing workforce in Temecula, CA. You will work fully onsite in a fast-paced plant environment, providing hands-on HR support to approximately 500 employees across two Southern California locations. The position focuses on employee engagement, HR administration, employee relations, and Spanish-language support for a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce.
Responsibilities
- Walk the plant floor daily to engage with employees, build relationships, and proactively identify concerns before they escalate.
- Conduct new hire orientations and support onboarding activities for an approximately 500-person workforce across multiple locations.
- Respond to employee questions regarding attendance, benefits, pay, and company policies in both English and Spanish.
- Process employee changes in Workday, including transfers, terminations, promotions, and other HR data updates.
- Support employee relations matters and assist in conducting workplace investigations in a manufacturing environment.
- Provide Spanish translation support during plant meetings and in day-to-day interactions with employees.
- Communicate confidently with a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce on the plant floor and in group settings.
- Attend occasional 6 AM startup meetings to support the production team and ensure HR presence across shifts.
- Manage full HR generalist functions independently with minimal ramp-up time, maintaining continuity during a leadership transition.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to maintain a positive, compliant, and productive work environment.
- Contribute to improving HR processes and leave the HR function in a stronger position at the end of the contract.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish at conversational and professional levels, with the ability to provide clear verbal and written communication in both languages.
- 3 to 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience, with the ability to manage core HR functions independently.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse HR environment and comfort operating in a plant setting.
- Direct experience handling employee relations matters and supporting or conducting workplace investigations.
- Recent, hands-on experience using Workday for HR administration, including employee data changes and related transactions.
- Ability to engage confidently with a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce on the plant floor.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a large hourly workforce and multiple locations.
- Availability to commit to a 3 to 6 month onsite contract in Temecula, CA.
- Experience supporting a large employee population, ideally around 500 employees, across multiple sites.
- Familiarity with two-shift manufacturing operations and the dynamics of a high-volume production environment.
- Strong floor presence and a proactive approach to walking the plant, engaging with employees, and addressing concerns.
- Ability to navigate sensitive employee situations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Comfort participating in early morning startup meetings when needed to support production teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing HR documentation and system updates.
- Ability to quickly build trust with employees and leaders during a manager transition.
- Interest in a focused contract role where the goal is to make a measurable impact within a defined timeframe.
