What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Copywriter position at Aston Carter?
Description:
The Digital Copywriter will join our clients Creative Center and partner with the art director. They are looking for someone with experience in the financial industry who is thoughtful and WANTS to do great work and attacks each project head on. The candidate should demonstrate experience from concept to actual writing. They are looking for a Writer more so than a Content Strategist (although a combination of the 2 is acceptable, UX writers may also be considered). They are seeking a conceptual thinker that has big ideas to tell stories in multiple ways, mediums, etc. (headlines, short body, long form, i.e. emails) They are NOT looking for: 1- Work that is pun heavy 2 - Heavy use of trendy language 3 - Not demonstrating original ideals/thinking. We want glass-half-full, get-it-done, what-if, and why-not people. Specifically, we're looking for an interactive writer with a knack for engaging users online.
Ideal Candidate:
- You can problem solve and develop a broad range of solutions for a given assignment.
- You can take diverse and often complex ideas and develop personal, clear, and simple copy that mirrors our brand voice.
- You understand SEO and how to optimize web pages for increased ranking.
- You can evaluate a brief or project and determine if you have sufficient information.
- You can turn feedback into even better work.
- You can present and sell creative ideas to clients.
- You can juggle different types of projects simultaneously.
- You can work on large-scale digital projects and tight deadlines with geographically dispersed teams.
- You can partner with a multi-disciplinary team especially content strategy and UX to solve strategic challenges while remaining focused on providing an optimum user experience.
- You can work closely with a creative partner (art director).
Skills & Qualifications:
- Mid-level experience (5 years agency and/or enterprise)
- Experience in the financial industry
- Exposure working with major brands in digital
- Experience/resume should show the candidates range of execution including websites, headlines, email, etc. and a portfolio website is REQUIRED for consideration
- Ideal candidate has experience with writing wire frames, SEO, or meta data
