Job Description
As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in analyzing daily purchase component demand using Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or other inventory management systems. You will be responsible for processing MRP system-driven demand reports and issuing purchase orders, while ensuring the best cost strategies are utilized. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to expedite shortages by coordinating with suppliers and documenting solutions.
Responsibilities
The role is based in an office environment, working Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm on-site. The team consists of three members, not including the manager. The company culture is supportive, offering opportunities for growth and hosting various events throughout the year, such as National Donut Day and potlucks. The office includes refrigerators and a café where food can be purchased, alongside complimentary beverages like lemonade, tea, Gatorade, and coffee.

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $28.85/hr.

Job Description

This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to expedite shortages by coordinating with suppliers and documenting solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze daily purchase component demand from MRP or other systems.
- Process purchase orders daily per MRP reports and schedule demand priority.
- Expedite shortages by documenting and escalating actionable solutions.
- Coordinate with supplier PO schedule confirmation audits.
- Verify and update current supplier lead times in the MRP system.
- Facilitate conference calls to drive solutions for shortages.
- Process Request for Quotes (RFQ) consistent with organization sourcing strategies.
- Evaluate supplier proposals to ensure compliance with RFQ requirements.
- Perform cost price analysis on procurements of low to moderate risk.
- Compile RFQ strategic options analysis and document cost analysis details.
- Participate in proposal evaluation teams and technical evaluations.
- Process weekly reports for Vendor Managed Inventory and Just in Time shipments.
- Act as a liaison between program teams and other functional areas.
- 1-2 years’ experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft-based.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong listening, verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Teams.
- Prior experience in purchasing.
- Experience in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in forecasting and a progressive approach.
- Ability to learn the product line and parts through on-the-job training.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
