Job Description

This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective purchasing. The position focuses on converting purchase requests into purchase orders, managing suppliers, and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives that improve procurement processes and reduce costs.
Responsibilities
- Process purchase requests into accurate and timely purchase orders using ERP systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and other internal teams to gather procurement requirements and translate them into requests for quotation (RFQs) and purchase orders (POs).
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers to optimize value for the business.
- Manage supplier relationships under the guidance of Category Managers to ensure quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.
- Monitor and resolve procurement issues throughout the lifecycle of an order, including invoice discrepancies, shipment problems, and delivery delays.
- Support strategic sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and reduce overall costs.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and data within ERP and related systems.
- Use Excel and other tools to track orders, analyze spend, and provide reporting as needed.
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or NetSuite.
- Proficiency in purchase order creation and management within an ERP system.
- Experience with invoice management, including resolving discrepancies and coordinating with finance.
- Strong negotiation skills focused on pricing, lead times, and contract terms.
- Solid understanding of general supply chain and procurement processes.
- Proficiency with Excel for tracking, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams.
- Experience supporting strategic sourcing or cost-reduction initiatives.
- Background in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Effective communication skills for managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize multiple purchase requests and manage competing deadlines.
