What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologic Technologist position at Astera Health?
Astera Health is currently accepting applications for a XR/CT Technologist.
This position is scheduled for 72 hours per biweekly pay period, two 12-hour shifts (Wednesdays and Thursdays 7 pm – 7 am), as well as working every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 11 pm – 7 am). Responsibilities required, but not limited to:
- Perform diagnostic X-ray and CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and department protocols.
- Prepare and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Verify patient identity, review exam orders, and explain procedures to patients.
- Perform portable imaging for surgical settings, inpatients, and emergency department patients as needed.
- Assist with emergency and trauma imaging in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.
- Operate and maintain radiography and CT equipment, performing routine quality control checks.
- Document procedures accurately in Epic and PACS systems.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles to protect patients and staff.
- Respond to after-hours and weekend imaging needs as required.
- Collaborate with radiologists, providers, and healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care.
- Completion of a formal training in an AMA approved school for Registered Radiologic Technologists
- A. R. R. T. Certification
- 1-2 years experience in a hospital setting performing x-rays and CT is preferred
