Job Summary
A Lead Resident Associate is responsible to provide basic care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Executive Director. The Lead Resident Associate also is responsible for overseeing the Resident Associate department.
Tasks
· Supervise all Resident Associate staff.
· Complete the Resident Associate staffing schedule, and is responsible for either filling open shifts with another Resident Associate, or will fill any open shift when required.
· Train new Resident Associate staff. Orientate them to the position.
· Communicate any Resident Associate employee issues/performance issues with the Executive Director, who then can take appropriate action.
· Schedule all physician appointments for residents. Arrange for transportation if needed.
· Acknowledge all new physician orders that come in for residents. Inform all appropriate Resident Associate staff, and document in resident chart and/or communication log.
· Observe and monitor that all resident cares are being completed properly and when required.
· Maintain a proper shower schedule for all residents. Document this shower schedule and inform all Resident Associate staff.
· Check in all monthly medication deliveries and compare to Medication Administration Record for accuracy of the delivery.
· Collaborate with the Executive Director and Registered Nurse as to the activities of daily living assistance and changes of condition of each and every resident.
· Awaken resident and assist them with dressing and getting ready for the day.
· Assists residents with daily functioning, if required.
· Assist residents in showering and bathing and follows scheduled showering times and monitor personal hygiene efforts.
· Observe and take notes/reports if there are any skin conditions, sores, mental or physical changes.
· Answer resident’s emergency response system call signals.
· Assist other staff with setting up dining room for meals.
· Assist residents to dining areas during meal times if needed, and other areas of the building throughout the day.
· Serve residents at meal time and assist them with eating.
· Clear tables after each meal, disinfect tables, and reset tables for next meal as well as vacuuming dining room after each meal.
· Refill condiments in dining room as needed.
· As delegated by Registered Nurse, assume direct supervision of keys for medication cabinets.
· As delegated by Registered Nurse, administer and monitor resident medications and notes in personal care plan variations, problems, and concerns observed.
· Record BMs daily and blood pressure, weight once a week on shower day (unless otherwise ordered by a physician) on flow sheets.
· As delegated by Registered Nurse, note medication supply and advise Director when supply is nearly depleted.
· Facilitate group activity as scheduled and clean up after activity is completed.
· Provide oral report to shift change personnel as well as read and initial shift change notes.
· Assist residents in laying down for rest times and bed-time at night.
· Make rounds during the shift to check on residents’ status.
· Assist in making resident’s bed when needed.
· Assist housekeeping when needed, such as cleaning or doing laundry.
· Spend time socializing with residents.
· Collect soiled towels and washcloths and replaces with new set each morning.
· Assist residents with clean-up in any instance of toileting problems.
· Other tasks may be assigned on a daily basis.

Knowledge
· Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer (resident) and personal services. This includes customer (resident, family, Power of Attorney) needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
· First Aid – Knowledge of first aid procedures needed to treat injuries.

Pay: $19.00 - $19.50 per hour
