Purpose And Scope
Cancer Biology (CB) has a number of CXO-3 positions globally. This position will work closely with the CxO-3 leaders of each research team in CB and support the CB Head to develop strategies and research plans appropriately and efficiently. The position will also objectively analyse the current situation and issues of each CB organization and make recommendations to enable the Head to smoothly manage the organization. To ensure that the team spanning five global locations functions as one, the position will support the formulation and implementation of communication plans and action plans to improve organizational culture.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Act as a cross-site connector to ensure CB teams work collaboratively rather than in silos, strengthening alignment and integration across global sites.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaborations within Oncology Research
- Provide objective analysis of each team’s status and challenges to support the CB Head in effective organizational management and decision-making.
- Support actions to improve organizational culture and enhance internal communication, fostering a more collaborative and innovative working environment.
- Mentor early-career scientists in addition to recruit and train new employees.
- Contribute to smooth organizational operations through close collaboration with Oncology operations team
Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, internal departments, external partners and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of the drug discovery process, including pharmacology, chemistry, protein science, and preclinical and clinical development
- Experience in managing and leading biology driven projects and teams.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams, such as biology, pharmacology and clinical development.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- PhD in biology and at least 15 years of experience in drug discovery research with a focus on biology and at least 5 years of experience in research strategy role
- Experience in leading cross-cultural teams.
- This position is based in Cambridge US and will mainly require on-site work.
