Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to customers across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring proper handling of all items
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving tasks within warehouses or delivery sites, maintaining safety standards at all times
- Verify delivery loads against manifests, ensuring accuracy before departure and upon arrival
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries professionally and courteously during deliveries
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with route driving experience in a commercial setting
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is preferred
- Experience driving box trucks or similar large vehicles in urban or rural environments
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including loading/unloading procedures and equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks regularly throughout the shift
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols at all times
- Familiarity with driving regulations related to commercial vehicles in your region
