Asphalt Plant Equipment Coatings Technician

What a day looks like

You clock into your assigned job, review the coating plan, and stage materials and spray gear. From there, you move between ladders and personnel lifts to reach every surface of asphalt plant machinery. You switch between spray equipment and manual tools to coat components, double-checking quality, material usage, and coverage. Throughout the shift, you keep the work area organized, ensure day-use containers are correctly labeled, and follow all procedures for material control and disposal. If a spill occurs, you report it immediately and assist with containment and cleanup according to training. You make sure all wastes and used oils stay properly labeled. In the paint booth, you enforce the rule: no smoking or sparks—only approved break areas are exceptions. You finish by tidying the area, documenting work, and preparing for the next assignment—always following company policies, safety rules, and any additional tasks your supervisor assigns.

• Apply industrial coatings with spray equipment and manual methods in varied positions.
• Work safely at heights using ladders and personnel lift equipment.
• Maintain a neat, professional work environment.
• Clock in accurately to the correct job and task.
• Label day-use containers properly and keep labels current.
• Follow procedures for material control and for proper disposal of materials.
• Report spills immediately; support containment and cleanup per training.
• Ensure all wastes and used oils are labeled at all times.
• Handle all paint products in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Do not smoke or allow sparks in the paint booth building; only approved break areas are permitted.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety rules at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• Proven ability with paint spray equipment and manual painting products.
• Comfort working at heights on ladders or personnel lifts.
• Ability to complete training and authorization to wear a respirator.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• Team-first mindset and reliable, regular attendance.
