ASSYST is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Project Manager to support our government client’s project in Laurel, MD. This position will support the project management office in executing various projects effectively and efficiently. Also, supporting tasks related to portfolio management.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (three days onsite and 2 days remote work)

Duties / Responsibilities:
- Management of a specific project and the work to be performed.
- Responsible for ensuring work performed is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budget.
- Performs day-to-day management of projects.
- Identifies issues and risks and recommends possible mitigation strategies associated with the project.
- At least 1-year experience in a project coordinator role.
- Basic understanding of project management principles.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- General knowledge of project management software.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Develop concrete, detailed plans for a project, including the schedule, the budget, and outlining the duties of each team member.
- Collaborate with various teams and conduct meetings to develop project plans.
- Experience identifying project goals and setting a timeline for the project.
- Ability to manage diverse project teams to ensure successful task completion.
- Responsible for gathering and documenting all project artifacts.
- Comfort speaking to large groups and senior management.
- Basic project management knowledge, organizational skills, communications skills, time management, team collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related technical field and one (1) year minimum of relevant experience.
