- Perform security analysis activities in accordance with established standards
- Monitor systems for threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity
- Analyze logs and alerts from security tools
- Develop and execute daily security monitoring checklists
- Conduct proactive threat hunting and continuous monitoring
- Evaluate and improve security operations processes
- Develop detection and response configurations for improved alerting and automation
- Execute incident response activities per defined plans
- Develop and maintain incident handling procedures
- Ensure proper log retention for investigations
- Generate security reports, metrics, and threat intelligence outputs
- 6 years of cybersecurity / SOC / threat analysis experience
- Experience with SIEM tools and log analysis
- Strong understanding of incident response and monitoring practices
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, FISMA)
- Security , CySA , GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent
- CISSP (preferred for senior-level candidates)

Assurit is seeking a Senior Security Operations Analyst to support continuous monitoring, threat detection, and incident response for a federal cybersecurity program.
Location: Washington, DC (Onsite; limited remote flexibility)
