Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help clients with mobility, transfers, and walking.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if needed.
- Remind clients to take medications (as permitted by state regulations).
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and meal cleanup.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social activities.
- Observe and report changes in the client's physical or mental condition to supervisors or family members.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Need active NJ CHHA license.
- Previous caregiving, home health, or nursing assistant experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
- Ability to lift and assist clients when necessary.
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required by some employers).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for positions requiring travel).
