POSITION SUMMARY
The Eligibility Supervisor oversees and manages the Eligibility department, ensuring accurate processing and maintenance of eligibility data for clients of ABA. This role requires strong leadership skills, industry expertise, and a focus on operational excellence to meet organizational and client needs effectively.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Processing enrollment, status changes, and terminations in compliance with ABA policies and standards.
- Coordinating timely generation of ID cards and welcome packets for members.
- Collaborating with the onboarding and new client implementation team to input new group data, including rates, plan details, and member updates.
- Preparing and maintaining departmental reports to track performance and compliance.
- Partnering with Human Resources and the Senior Manager of Financial Operations to recruit, interview, and hire team members for the Eligibility department.
- Evaluating and managing Eligibility update processes, both manual and electronic, to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Leading improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, testing, and implementation of new processes and technologies.
- Ensuring all departmental staff receive comprehensive training for their roles.
- Collaborate during weekly team meetings to review inventory and other critical operational areas.
- Manage administration of COBRA, FSA, HRA, and HSA eligibility, payments, and rate changes.
- May perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
- 3–5 years of experience in the third-party administration (TPA) or health insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of self-funded medical plans and eligibility processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in positive and challenging situations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills to engage effectively with leadership, staff, brokers, agents, and clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to client and team needs.
- Ability to foster innovation, remain open to new ideas, and adapt to change.
