What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations (Reverse Logistics) position at Assurant?

This is an onsite role within our Mt Juliet, TN facility.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Lead & Innovate: Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies for reverse logistics and repair services
- Drive Operational Excellence: Oversee demand planning, operations control, new product introduction, repair process development, and parts reclamation
- Champion Quality: Implement Lean Six Sigma principles to ensure top-tier quality assurance and continuous improvement
- Own the Numbers: Manage P&L performance, budgets, and profitability for your areas of responsibility
- Collaborate & Influence: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Training and New Product Development, to launch new products and optimize processes
- Build High-Performing Teams: Hire, mentor, and develop talent while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation
- Client-Focused Leadership: Serve as a key liaison to resolve operational and product issues, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred)
- 7 years leading complex operations (manufacturing/repair preferred)
- 2 years managing P&L
- 4 years in demand planning, procurement, production planning, and new product introduction
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, charts, trend analysis)
- Lean Six Sigma expertise
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Technical/mechanical background
- ISO & OSHA knowledge
- Lean Green Belt certification
- Oracle experience
