We are seeking an experienced seasoned field leader to help manage, scale, and professionalize our operations. The job of a Project Manager (Underground Field Supervisor) is to lead our underground installation team (approximately 15 field personnel) and oversee approximately 500 installation projects per year. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong field presence, operational discipline, and excellent customer communication. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes full ownership of job execution, leads by example, and is a skilled communicator.

Responsibilities

• Own execution of residential generator installation projects from scheduling through final completion and close out with the building department.
• Supervise, schedule, and lead multiple underground and installation crews (up to 15 personnel).
• Spend approximately 60% of time in the field overseeing active jobs and 40% in the office coordinating operations and managing time/payroll.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards including OSHA, trenching, excavation, and coordination with other trades (gas, electrical and generator service).
• Conduct pre-job planning, field walk-throughs, and daily operations briefings.
• Coordinate closely with permitting, inspections, and other internal teams.
• Serve as a point of contact for homeowners during installation and help with issue resolution.
• Communicate technical information clearly and professionally to customers.
• Monitor job quality, timelines, and crew productivity across concurrent projects (up to 40 projects at one time).
• Review plans, site conditions, and job requirements prior to underground work commencing. Ensure the job site is ready for other trades/crews.
• Resolve field issues quickly while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and review job documentation, photos, reports, and close-out materials.
• Utilize field management software and mobile tools (ServiceTitan experience a plus).
• Provide input on hiring, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and field execution.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in residential construction, underground utilities, or related field operations.
• Ability to coach, mentor and lead by example.
• Proven experience in a supervisory, foreman, or project management/assist project management role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and hold teams accountable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with homeowners and resolve customer issues.
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• High experience reading surveys, construction plans and managing multiple jobs simultaneously.
• Comfortable with technology, mobile devices, and job documentation systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites.
• Physically capable of working in outdoor field environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with residential construction projects, residential generator installations or similar mechanical/electrical systems.
• ServiceTitan experience (preferred but not required).
• Light equipment operating expertise (skid steer, mini excavator, lull).
• OSHA, trenching/excavation, or safety certifications.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish/Creole) a plus.
• Experience scaling operations or managing high job volume environments.

Working Conditions

• This role requires frequent outdoor field work in varying weather conditions. Physical activity may include walking job sites, operating equipment, working around trenches, and inspecting installations. Extended hours and occasional weekends may be required depending on workload and customer needs.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
